Waterslides set to reopen

AquaPulse’s two waterslides are set to re-open later this week, more than a month after being shut down due to a malfunctioning pump.

In a statement posted on the WynActive Facebook page today, Western Leisure Services said repairs on the pump were nearly complete, with the waterslides expected to be operating by this Saturday.

The waterslides were first closed on November 13 for maintenance works after an internal valve stopped working correctly, resulting in coolant leaking out of an internal chamber and allowing water in.

As a result the pump began to overheat.

It was announced the following day that the slides would remain closed until further notice.

Bruce Mackay from Western Leisure Services, the organisation that runs AquaPulse, said patrons had been offered alternative options, such as inflatables, since the waterslides’ closure.

He said members had not received discounts because of the waterslides being shut down.

AquaPulse, formerly Wyndham Leisure and Events Centre, opened in June, 2015, following a $54.4 million facelift.
