Water bill delays continue

Residents across Wyndham are voicing frustrations with Greater Western Water (GWW) over continued water bill delays.

Lewis Nixon moved to Werribee last November, and said he is yet to receive a single bill.

“I expected my first bill in January or February, but haven’t heard anything except that the bills have been delayed,” Mr Nixon said.

“I assume I’m going to get a shock when the bill finally does come in.”

He said GWW had sent two updates through the mail, but he still has no idea when will actually receive the bill.

“I first got contacted in January with a letter in the mail saying the bill will be delayed – then I got another one of the same letters this week saying, again, that the bill will be delayed.”

Mr Nixon said while GWW told him there will be a discount when a bill eventually arrives, he has still had to put money aside just in case.

“I have put a bit of money away now that there has been a second delay but I’m still expecting a big bill, especially as it’s been six months since I first moved in.”

General manager for customer Experience at GWW thanked customers for their patience while GWW fixes issues that were caused by the merger of billing and payment systems last year.

“We’ve increased our customer service team to support customers as we resolve these issues, including face-to-face sessions for impacted customers and in-person support at our Footscray and Sunbury offices,“ he said.
