Staff and residents at Mercy Place Wyndham Residential Aged Care received a surprise delivery of long stem roses and floral bouquets from Pacific Werribee’s centre management team ahead of Valentine’s Day.

Together with local retailer, Serenity Flowers, the unexpected deliveries were carried out to recognise and thank local healthcare workers ahead of February 14.

Pacific Werribee general manager Ryan Ling said the idea of surprising the Mercy Place Wyndham staff to brighten their day was thought up by his team.

“We wanted to think of a creative way to thank the local frontline workers and were thrilled to be able to partner with Pacific Werribee’s Serenity Flowers,” he said.

“The team at Mercy Place work so hard to provide a safe and supportive place for residents of our elderly community, and the flowers were just a way we could show our ongoing appreciation.

“We also wanted to share a little love with the aged-care residents in the spirit of Valentine’s Day.”

Mercy Place’s residential aged care lifestyle co-ordinator, Loc Phan, said the team and residents were delighted with the bloom delivery.

“I don’t think I have ever seen so many smiles from both my staff and the local residents. It’s not every day you receive a delivery of gorgeous roses and bunches of beautiful flowers.

“It certainly made our day, and we are so grateful to Pacific Werribee and Serenity Flowers for the thoughtful gifts.”

More than 86 long stem roses and four bouquets were delivered, ensuring each resident and staff member walked away with a Valentine’s Day surprise.
