The Werribee Primary School community is thrilled at the news that “much-needed” repairs are on the way.
The school will receive a $275,000 state grant to refurbish the administration building roof.
Principal David Quinn welcomed the “terrific news” delivered by Werribee MP Tim Pallas at the school last week to the delight of staff and pupils.
“The works are very much needed and we are so grateful to receive these funds to complete this project,” Mr Quinn said.
Mr Pallas said the funding was part of a $10 million state government commitment to improve classrooms and upgrade facilities to strengthen community pride in schools.
“The teachers at Werribee Primary School do an excellent job educating our next generation,” Mr Pallas said.
“This refurbishment is about ensuring that they have great facilities to continue their important work.
“We know that students feel more positive and connected to their school and achieve better education outcomes when school facilities are well maintained and pleasant environments to learn in.
“This upgrade is about more than giving Werribee Primary School students the school facilities they deserve – it is about helping build community pride in a great local school.” …
