Upgrade for Cottrell Street car park

More parking spaces are on the way for central Werribee, with a major car park set to be expanded.

Wyndham council has announced that the car park at

Wyndham Park located at 59 – 61 Cottrell Street, Werribee, will soon be subject to an upgrade that will make it larger as well as improving amenity, infrastructure, access and convenience.

Scheduled for completion by mid to late 2024, the upgrade will involve the creation of 80 parking spaces – 30 more spaces than the current car park.

Disabled drivers will also be catered for, with four accessible car spaces to be included.

Additionally, new lighting, footpaths, and landscaping will be incorporated to enhance the safety and appearance of the car park which will be transformed from a temporary facility with a gravel surface, into a fully sealed, permanent piece of infrastructure.

Expressing enthusiasm for the project, Wyndham mayor Jennie

Barrera said the upgrade was much needed.

“As Wyndham city continues to grow, so does the demand for improved parking and

access,” she said.

“This initiative will not only enhance the community’s experience but also contribute

to the ongoing development of our city centre.”

The Cottrell Street car park will continue to offer free parking upon completion of works in line with the rest of central Werribee and will continue to employ a three-hour time

limit.
