Police have been left shaking their heads after stopping a van in Point Cook, which had a six-year-old child sitting in one of two lazy boy recliners installed in the back of the vehicle.
Officers from Westgate Highway Patrol pulled the van over on Sanctuary Lakes Boulevard, around 8.30pm on Sunday, after being alerted to the fact that it was unregistered.
The lazy boy seats were being held in place by an alloy block fastened to the floor of the van, which is not approved by VicRoads.
Police issued three infringements to the driver of the van for having an unregistered vehicle, an unrestrained passenger and breaching the standards of registration.
