UPDATE: Police have identified a man who was found unconscious in Tarneit on Monday.
The male was found by a passer-by about 2.55am near Tammy Lane and Mirror Avenue in Tarneit.
He was assessed by paramedics at the scene and transported to hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.
At the time, police appealed for anyone who recognised the man to come forward. Yesterday, Victoria Police announced that the man’s family had gotten in contact with authorities.
The man was recognised as a 40-year-old Werribee resident.
The circumstances surrounding the man’s condition are still unknown, however are not being treated as suspicious at this stage.
Police have said they would like to thank members of the public and media for their assistance.
