Two Wyndham teens arrested

Police from the Gang Crime Squad arrested a 15-year-old Wyndham Vale boy and a 16-year-old Tarneit boy yesterday.

They are being interviewed by police and are expected to be charged with aggravated carjacking and affray.

The officers made the arrests while executing three warrants in Tarneit and one warrant in Wyndham Vale.

While conducting the warrants, the police located items that are believed to be linked to an aggravated burglary that occurred at a property in the Melbourne CBD on Sunday, December 5.

Police arrested another four people earlier this week following a series of incidents, including a stabbing in St Albans last weekend, which left a man with life-threatening injuries.

Emergency services were called following a collision and armed carjacking at the intersection of Taylors Road and Kerrison Avenue, St Albans about 2pm on December 5.

The vehicle allegedly collided with a second vehicle at the intersection.

The occupants of the first vehicle then tried unsuccessfully to gain access to that car.

The group then headed further along Kerrison Avenue and subsequently carjacked a vehicle occupied by a lone female driver.

A 69-year-old St Albans man attempted to intervene and was stabbed a number of times.

He was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and remains in a serious condition.

The occupants of the vehicle involved in the collision were also taken to hospital for treatment.

The female driver of the vehicle involved in the carjacking was not physically injured.

On Monday, police executed search warrants at properties in Truganina, Deer Park, Meadow Heights, Derrimut and Taylors Hill, seizing items including weapons, cash, stolen property and drugs.

A 19-year-old Meadow Heights man was charged with aggravated carjacking, assault and affray.

A 19-year-old Derrimut man was charged with aggravated carjacking, intentionally cause serious injury and attempted aggravated burglary.

A 21-year-old Taylors Hill man was charged with possess drug of dependence.

A 21-year-old Deer Park man was interviewed and released pending further inquiries.

The two 19-year-old men have been remanded in custody to appear at Melbourne Magistrates Court on March 19, 2022.

The Taylors Hill man was bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on May 5 2022.

The investigation into the incidents remains ongoing.
