Two arrested for alleged drag race

Two drivers had their cars impounded after police caught them allegedly drag-racing on Fitzgerald Road while travelling at speeds of more than 50 kilometres per hour, earlier this week.

Police intercepted the motorists on Boundary Road just after 1.20 am on Tuesday.

One of the cars was allegedly detected travelling at 154 kilometres per hour.

A 39-year-old Derrimut man and a 25-year-old Melton woman were both arrested.

The drivers were caught as part of Operation Achilles, a Victoria Police state-wide response to illegal hoon activity.
