Two musicians will be hitting all the right notes when they perform at Cafe QB in Werribee this month.

Nick Barker and Anna Oliphant Wright will take to the stage as part of a program which aims to give young local music artists a chance to showcase their talents.

Oliphant Wright, 19, is a singer and song-writer, whose genres include alt country, blues and indie folk.

In contrast, Barker has been playing, recording and touring for more than three decades.

The live music program being run at Café QB is an initiative of the Quantin Binnah Community Centre.

Rebecca Tucker is a community centre staff member helping to organise the live music program. She said the project has been well received by artists and audiences.

“Music has a powerful means of connection, it offers a strong sense of belonging, and as this project continues to demonstrate, it brings community together across age and culture,” Ms Tucker said.

“Our audiences have consisted of 18 to 60 year-olds, it is overwhelming to see a room full of people brought together by music.”

The show, at 8pm on Friday, May 24, will be held at Cafe QB, 61 Thames Boulevard, Werribee. Tickets: $15,
