A Point Cook truck driver says that when he received a phone call to say that he had won $200,000, he initially thought it was an April Fools’ prank.

Yesterday, on April 1, the man received a call from a Tatts official, informing him that he won first prize in a Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw.

“I didn’t answer your call because I thought you’d just be a scammer,” the man told the Tatts official.

The man  said his wife, who received an email about the win, also believed it was an April Fools’ joke.

“But knowing it’s real, well that’s just awesome,” he said.

“It’s one of those things you never think will happen to you.

“This is massive for us, it will change our lives.”

The truck driver, who asked to remain anonymous, purchased his lottery entry of one random number online at thelott.com.

When asked how he planned to spend his prize, the Point Cook man said it would “make life more enjoyable”.

“Honestly, I need time to really think about what I am going to do with it,” he said.

“I work a lot every week, about 70 hours, so this will help me slow down a bit.”

He said that he and his wife might use some of the money to take a holiday.
