Trio arrested in burglary investigation

An Altona man was one of three people arrested in Point Cook on Friday morning as part of an ongoing investigation into a series of local burglaries.

Officers attended a vacant house on Boardwalk Boulevard, Point Cook about 9.30am on February 27.

Local intelligence led investigators to believe that a number of people were squatting at the premises and may be able to assist with inquires into a number of local burglaries.

When police arrived at the premises it is alleged one of the men climbed onto the roof and then jumped from the second story to escape police, but was soon apprehended with the assistance of a group of nearby tradesmen.

A 20-year-old Altona man has been charged with aggravated burglary, theft of a motor vehicle and trespassing. He will face the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court this evening.

A 39-year-old woman of no fixed address has been charged with trespassing, producing false documents and obtaining financial advantage by deception.

She has been bailed to appear at Werribee Magistrates’ Court on August 26.

A 27-year-old man of no fixed address has been charged with aggravated burglary, theft of a motor car, trespassing and other offences.

The investigation continues.
