Three teenagers, including a 13-year-old Wyndham Vale boy and a 15-year-old Tarneit boy, have been arrested after an attempted carjacking in Docklands this weekend.
Investigators were told the trio approached a man in the carpark of a shopping centre on Waterfront Way about 1.20pm on Saturday.
It is alleged one of the youths produced a knife and demanded the keys to the man’s Ford Territory, which he refused to hand over.
The boys fled on foot and uniformed police gave chase, arresting one of the youths.
The other two youths jumped into the Yarra River off Newquay Promenade, Docklands before swimming back to waiting officers who arrested them.
A 15-year-old Tarneit boy, a 15-year-old Cobram boy and a 13-year-old Wyndham Vale boy are currently in custody assisting police with their enquiries.
