The Werribee Tigers Football Club is looking to the future, with a membership launch for the 2018 season, an upgraded facility and a new logo.

The club has officially launched its membership campaign for next year with the slogan “Leave Your Mark”.

For the first time in almost two decades, Werribee is heading into its first season as a standalone VFL club.

The club is calling on fans from across Wyndham to show their support, as it sets out into a new era, which includes the re-designed logo.

The new logo has a stylised “W” emblem from the club guernsey in the traditional Werribee gold, and comes in two slightly different versions, with one featuring black trim and the words “Werribee Football Club” in black text, and one featuring white trim and white text.

Club chief executive Mark Penaluna said it was an exciting period for the club, which would also soon be operating out of a new state-of-the-art facility at Avalon Airport Oval.

Well-known figures from the club’s history recently gathered to hail its new membership launch and inspect the redevelopment progress at Avalon Airport Oval.

Former president Bruce Montgomery, 1993 premiership coach Donald McDonald, former reserves player and administrator Eddie Marriot, club goal kicking record holder Kevin Leece, Kerryn O’Brien from the club’s Hall of Fame and games record holder Robbie Castello attended the event.

David Lyons, who was a member of the  first team to play for Werribee 53 years  ago, also joined the group. Mr Lyons was a member of the Werribee under-19 team for round one in 1965.

He is still involved with the club as treasurer and a long-standing board member.

Number one ticket holders Merv Hughes and Russell Mark, along with current player Brad Xavier, also visited the oval to see how the upgrade is shaping up.

The club has developed a number of foundation membership opportunities for next year, including the Black Label Foundation Concession Membership for $35, the Black Label Foundation Membership for $70 and the Gold Label Foundation Membership for $240.
