Thirty years ago this week, on November 20, 1991, The Werribee Banner’s front page was about a battle to save endangered grasslands at Laverton North intensified this week with the arrival of famous British botanist, David Bellamy. Professor Bellamy flew in to voice his protest at the threat posed by industrial subdivision of the 250ha parcel of land, which is bordered by Boundary Road.
