Wyndham police uncovered a Truganina crop house last week after thieves raided the house and stole a large amount of mature cannabis plants.
Police attended the Rigby Court property on Wednesday morning following a triple-0 call about the front door to the property being wide open.
When police went to investigate, they found the front door had been kicked in and discovered a hydroponic cannabis-growing operation in three rooms of the house.
Senior Constable Madeline Gillard said two of the rooms had already been cleared, with about 30 cannabis plants stolen. A third room, which contained 36 plants, was left untouched.
Senior Constable Gillard said Wyndham’s Criminal Investigation Unit was on the hunt for both the crop house operator and person or persons involved in the burglary.
She said there had been a number of Wyndham crop houses identified recently through thefts.
This month, three men were sentenced to jail over an aggravated burglary at a cannabis crop house in Truganina.
Zdravko Rajic, 38, Tyson Folino, 29, and Stephen Spiteri, 26, each pleaded guilty in Melbourne County Court to charges relating to the burglary on February 12, 2016.
