Fashions on the field go global

Colourful saris, kilts and other national costumes will grace Werribee racecourse this Saturday for the first-ever Miss International Fashions on the Field Pageant.

Competition organiser and Wyndham councillor Heather Marcus is calling on children, teens, men and women to don national costumes and strut their stuff as part of the Werribee Racing Club’s Multicultural Race Day festivities.

“It’s a bit different, it hasn’t been done before,” Cr Marcus said. Winners will receive cash prizes and a sash.

Gates will open at 11.30 for the race day, which is the penultimate day on the racing club’s calendar.
