Teens arrested after series of crimes in Tarneit

A 13-year-old boy has been punched unconscious by a group of youths in Tarneit.

Channel 9 news reported that the boy’s father discovered a group of youths in the backyard of their Tarneit home about 11pm on Wednesday. The youths allegedly hit the man’s family members with tree branches and rocks.

The offenders also attacked the man’s 13-year-old son. The victim’s mother told Channel 9 that she found her son in “a pool of blood”.

The boy is now recovering from his injuries in hospital.

Also about 11pm the same night, a group of youths allegedly attempted to rob a teenage boy in Finchley Park Crescent, Tarneit.

They made demands for the victim’s property, but he ran from the scene.

Hours later, police were called to a house on Harmony Drive in regards to a “disruptive party”.

Police said up to 30 youths were at the property at the time. While at the house, police arrested a 16-year-old Harkness boy in relation to the attempted robbery n Finchley Park Crescent.

A second 16-year old male, from Deer Park, was arrested in regards to criminal damage.

Police were again called to Harmony Drive about 9am yesterday after reports a group of teenage girls were throwing rocks at cars parked in the street.

Two girls, aged 16, were arrested at the scene. The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
