Teenager hospitalised after armed robbery

A 16-year-old boy has been hospitalised after an armed robbery in Point Cook this morning, during which he was threatened with knives.

Police are investigating the incident, during which the boy was walking along Featherbrook Drive to catch a bus around 6.35am.

The teenager was approached by four unknown males in a BMW sedan.

The males got out of the vehicle and three of them produced knives, while demanding the victim hand over his mobile phone.

The victim, from Point Cook, was punched to the face, causing significant facial injuries which required hospital treatment.

The offenders also forcibly removed a jacket the boy was wearing and demanded he sign out of his iCloud account. The offenders returned to their vehicle and drove away east along Featherbrook Drive.

A passer-by is believed to have followed the offender’s vehicle however has not made contact with police.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or who has information on the vehicle or males involved to come forward.
