Teen arrested after reports of Wyndham Vale explosion

Police have arrested a teenage boy following an explosion in Wyndham Vale last Sunday.

Emergency services were called to a work site on Glee Street on June 16, following reports a portable toilet had exploded. No one was injured during the incident.

A 17-year-old Hoppers Crossing boy was arrested at a  Hoppers Crossing property earlier today.

A Victoria Police statement said it is expected that the teen will be charged this afternoon with a range of explosives offences, including cause explosion likely to cause serious injury to property and make or use explosive, as well as drugs and weapons offences.

A number of items including explosives and drugs were seized at the Hoppers Crossing address.

The teen is likely to face a children’s court later today.
