Police have arrested a teenager after he allegedly ran from a stolen vehicle in Werribee last night, following a pursuit by the Air Wing.
Officers were initially alerted to the sounds of burnouts near Kookaburra Avenue, when they noticed a silver Toyota Hilux driving in the area at high speed just before 11.30pm.
The Toyota allegedly failed to stop when officers attempted to intercept it on Tarneit Road, Hoppers Crossing.
The Air Wing then followed the vehicle to Budgie Court where the driver allegedly dumped the vehicle and ran into parkland.
A 17-year-old Melton South boy was arrested nearby and is expected to be charged with theft of motor vehicle, handle stolen goods and various traffic offences.
