Staff at Werribee Primary School have come together to film a music video, to help bring cheer to the community.

Performing arts and music teacher Josh Tooth said the video featured classroom and specialist teachers, principals and office staff singing What a Wonderful World, individually and in small groups.

Mr Tooth said he filmed the video last month, when staff still had the option to work on-site at the school, and uploaded it to the school’s official Facebook page.

The video has been viewed more than 5000 times since March 24.

Mr Tooth said he was inspired to make the music clip, after seeing a video of Hollywood performers singing Imagine by John Lennon.

“I spotted a similar celebrity video on social media and thought it would be a great idea to bring some positivity to the community,” he said.

“There were some school staff who were really keen to take it up and some who needed a bit of a prompt.”

Mr Tooth said some school staff members had chosen to play musical instruments for the video, rather than sing.

“I just liked everybody chipping in and having a go at it,” he said.

“We’ve had parents commenting [online] that their kids have gotten a kick out of their teachers doing something fun.”

Parent Sarah Klein, whose two daughters attend Werribee Primary School, said the family had loved watching the video.

“It was really fabulous to see – cheered my two girls up instantly,” she said.
