Tea time for a good cause

By Dewi Sherry

Students from Wyndham Central College are set to play a key role in Werribee Rotary Club’s High Tea Spectacular later this month.

The event will help raise money for the Rotary Cancer (RoCan) Wellness Centre for the West and Student Health and Wellbeing programs at Wyndham Central College.

Students will contribute in different ways to ensure the success of the event.

Assistant principal, Connie Faranda, said: “The high tea provides our students with the opportunity to take part in a number of different ways and have an authentic experience.

“On the day students will be involved in the hospitality component, acting as waiters. Students were also given a brief by Werribee Rotary to create flyers for the event and one of the flyers created by our student was picked to be used.”

Students from the College’s food studies classes have also been given the opportunity to work alongside the Rotarians and provide food for guests on the day.

The event will be held on Sunday, October 22 at Wyndham Central College, 101 Shaws Road, Werribee.
