Taysha is making self-belief, perseverance and genuine acts of inclusivity sound pretty good.
The fact she has more than 150,000 streams on Spotify and has reached number one on the @Abreak American Indie Charts might be a big part of that.
However, the 14-year-old singer-songwriter is very much present in her community, and has been named Wyndham’s Young Person of the Month.
Taysha’s passion for music, acting, and performance inspires young people to believe in themselves and pursue their passions with confidence.
Last year, she released Fearless – a single dedicated to encouraging people to fight their hardest battles with courage.
She is a regular on the local music circuit, having performed at Christmas by the Lakes in 2024 and 2025, this year’s Wyndham Business Awards, the Laverton Festival, events and the Point Cook Pop Up Park and at Werribee Rotary’s women’s mental health events in 2024 and 2025.
Mayor Josh Gilligan said her art brings about community unity.
“Taysha’s passion and creativity is inspiring and encourages other young people to think big and follow their dreams,” Cr Gilligan said.
“Wyndham City thanks Taysha for bringing the community together and encouraging inclusion through her creative performances at many community events.”
One Wyndham recipients are residents aged between 12 to 25 who positively contribute to the Wyndham community and are role models to other young people.
Each month council selects a Wyndham resident to be awarded the ‘Young Person of the Month’.
Winners are awarded a $300 gift voucher of their choice and other prizes.
