The first serve has been hit on the tennis court renewal project at Wootten Road Reserve
In Tarneit.
The project involves upgrading courts 1, 2 and 3 with acrylic surfacing and also general landscaping.
Wyndham councillor Peter Maynard said these works would deliver hard-wearing, low maintenance surfaces that would be suitable for both club use and public access.
“This redevelopment will breathe new life into the courts and will result in reduced
court maintenance, in turn giving players more court time,” Cr Maynard said.
“These works will be particularly beneficial for Wootten Road Reserve’s host club,
Hoppers Crossing Tennis Club.”
Wootten Road Reserve tennis courts 4-9 will remain open (courts 4-6 for club use;
courts 7-9 for public use) while these works are being undertaken.
“Now that summer is here and the Australian Open is around the corner, why not
dust off your tennis racket and head down to one of the many community tennis
courts across Wyndham,” Cr Maynard said.
