It’s time to get your skates on and check out the $4 million upgrade of Baden Powell Drive Reserve in Tarneit.

Wyndham council has redeveloped the park into a skate, BMX and scooter park, adding in a new playground, exercise areas, gardens and sheltered picnic and barbecue areas.

Wyndham’s mayor and sports development portfolio holder Peter Maynard invited all residents to the official opening of the new facilities next month.

“To celebrate the completion of works on this exciting park, we’ll be hosting a skate competition for the community,” Cr Maynard said.

“Whether you’re a keen skateboarder, talented on the scooter, or fancy a bit of a BMX, come down to participate in one of our four competitions hosted by the YMCA.”

The launch will be held Sunday, February 18 from 11am until 4pm. All activities on the day will be free, and food will be available to buy.
