Tarneit collision turns fatal

Police are investigating the circumstances of a fatal collision in Tarneit on Saturday, May 18.

Emergency services responded to reports that a Haval Jolion collided with a Toyota Camry before crashing into a pole at the intersection of Doherty’s Road and Werribee-Melton Road about 1.25am.

Two teenage boys, occupants from the Haval, were taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The 16-year-old from Hoppers Crossing died in hospital on Sunday, May 24.

The 16-year-old from Werribee remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

A third boy in the car, a 16-year-old from Werribee, has been released from hospital.

The occupants of the Toyota did not sustain any serious injuries.

Police say checks have revealed the Haval was stolen from a shopping centre car park on Hummingbird Boulevard, Tarneit, on May 10.
