Suspicious fire in Hoppers Crossing

Police are investigating a suspicious shop fire in Hoppers Crossing this morning.

Emergency services were called to a tobacconist on Hogans Road, Hoppers Crossing at about 4am on Friday, August 11, after reports the store was on fire.

Fire crews were able to extinguish the blaze soon after their arrival.

An arson chemist will attend the scene later today to determine the cause, but at this stage police investigating the fire are treating it as suspicious.
