Mums across Wyndham will be celebrated on Sunday as Mother’s Day rolls back around.
Emma Slattery, of Truganina, will be celebrating Mother’s Day for the first time this year after giving birth to her daughter Lilly nine months ago.
“It’s great being a mother,” she said. “I love being around to witness her milestones and see her growing up.”
The highlight of motherhood to date for Emma was the first time Lilly said “mum”.
“It brought a tear to my eye, melted my heart,” she said.
Looking forward to Sunday, Emma sees it as another day to spend quality time with her family.
Council figures reveal 1149 babies were born to Wyndham mums in the first three months of this year, with the most (410) being born in March.
