Melbourne Storm players will head to Werribee on Friday, January 21 for a special open training session.

Storm members and fans living in the area will be able to attend Victoria University’s Wyndham Sporting Complex in Hoppers Lane, to see their team preparing for the start of the NRL season.

The open session follows on from a similar successful event held within the Hume municipality, in Melbourne’s northern suburbs, just before the Christmas-New Year break.

Storm will also hold a training session at Casey Fields next month to complete their trip around Melbourne’s outer suburbs, which is where support for rugby league is among the strongest in the state.

Gates for the free Werribee session will open at 2pm, with training set to kick off from 2.30pm.

Following training, around 5pm, players will participate in interviews, followed by a free NRL Victoria junior clinic for children.

Food trucks and team mascot Storm Man will be feature at the event.

Other activities for attendees will also be held during the open training sessions.

Storm will play two trial matches in Victoria in the lead-up to the upcoming NRL round one in March, against the New Zealand Warriors at Casey Fields on Saturday, February 19 at 4pm and in Ballarat against Newcastle at Mars Stadium on Sunday, February 27 at 5.45pm.
