Station Place to host summertime series

With summer underway and the Christmas and New Year holiday period about to begin, Wyndham residents are being encouraged to get involved in the many free activities on offer.

Werribee City Centre in Station Place and Kelly Park are the host venues for Wyndham council’s Summer in the Park series which kicks off in early January with a selection of movie screenings.

Wyndham mayor Jennie Barrera explained what films were on offer.

“Bring the family, pack a picnic rug and snacks and come and enjoy the outdoor

cinema at Kelly Park featuring The Super Mario Bros. Movie on Saturday

January 12 at 5.30pm, Barbie at 5.30pm Saturday January 20 and a double feature

Footloose and Dirty Dancing on Saturday January 27 at 5.30pm.” said Cr Barrera.

“Or if you are trying to achieve some inner peace, then Tai Chi with Rita at 9am on

Monday January 15, at 9am Thursday January 25 at Station Place will get you in

the zen.”

For Wyndham’s younger residents, including children under 10, the focus then moves to dance with the Beatz Freaks Dance Workshops from 9am to 11am on Tuesday January 16 and Tuesday January 23 or Volar Dance Workshops at 10am to 11am on Thursday January 18

and Monday January 22 at Station Place.

Music then takes over Station Place, starting with Summer Tunes featuring Tanya George on Thursday January 18 from 5pm to 8pm, Emile Fuimaono on Friday January 19 from 5pm to 8pm, Lewis Pidutti from 5pm to 8pm on Thursday January 25 and Alley Eley from 5pm to 8pm on Friday January 26.

Those who want to play rather than listen can try their skills at Notes Music School from

9am to 11am on Wednesday January 17 andJ anuary 24, while those who want to paint can join the Pinot and Picasso Pop up paint session at Station Place from 3pm to 5pm on Wednesday January 17 and Wednesday

January 24.
