A program that provides support to emerging musicians who live, study or work in outer suburban areas is heading to Wyndham.
The GRID Series – which stands for Grass Roots Indie Development – is aimed at helping musicians with limited access to studios, producers and industry knowledge.
Eight Wyndham musicians will be selected to take part in the program, which will include a weekend of one-on-one mentoring with music industry professionals, a song development session with an established songwriter, a fully-produced track recorded at Box Hill Institute’s Sing Sing East studios and a single launch showcase.
One of the GRID Series’ founders, Ariel Blum, said the program began about six years ago.
“We’re blown away every time we run the project, with the enthusiasm and energy which emerging artists bring to the studio and their creativity,” he said.
“If you’re thinking of applying or are a bit nervous that you don’t have a proper recording or that the demo of the recording you want to send us isn’t of a level of quality that you would like, still apply.”
Applications are open until May 17 for artists living, working or studying in Wyndham. Applicants must be aged 17 or above.
