Spring fashion at local business showcase

Spring has sprung, and so too has spring fashion.

Colourful dresses, co-ordinating shoes, matching millinery and the snazziest outfits for men will hit the catwalk later this month when the Wyndham Business and Tourism Association hosts a fundraising fashion parade.

Spring fashions will be showcased by female customers of leading fashion houses and players of the Werribee Football Club. The women will be modelling the latest from Tonia T Boutique, Urban Rose, Connor and Francine’s Shoes.

Other businesses, including the Gift Givers Gallery and Fifth Element Day Spa, will have stalls to display their products and services.

Organiser Tonia Tribe is expecting about 200 guests to attend.

“It’s going to be a lovely, girly, glamorous night out,” Ms Tribe said.

“Everyone’s come out of a long, dark winter – they need new clothes, they want bright colours, they want flowing fabrics.

“People can be entertained by the parade but also see what’s on offer from other local businesses.”

Ms Tribe said the fashion parade was likely to become an annual event.

All money raised will go to the Wyndham Community and Education Centre, which offers young people alternative ways of completing year 12.

Teresa Vizintin, of Wyndham Community and Education Centre, said she was thrilled the centre was to be the inaugural parade’s fundraising recipient.

The Werribee Business and Tourism Association’s fashion parade is on Tuesday, October 20, from 6.30pm at the Park Hotel, 12 Watton Street. Tickets are $39, which includes dinner.

Drinks are at bar prices. Tickets can be purchased at Tonia T Boutique, 16 Watton Street.
