Sports clubs urged to apply for grants

Wyndham football and netball clubs are being encouraged to apply their share of $2.5 million worth of grants through the 2022-23 Country Football and Netball Program.

Werribee MP Tim Pallas encourages local clubs to liaise with their local councils about opportunities to apply to the program.

“Our local clubs are a breeding ground for our next generation of sporting champions. They deserve modern, safe and accessible facilities they can be proud of,” Mr Pallas said.

“Better facilities allow clubs to take on more players, host more events and draw bigger crowds, creating a real buzz in the community and boosting local economies.

“I urge football and netball clubs here in Werribee to talk to their council to kick start projects that can make a real difference in people’s lives.”

The program supports the building of new facilities, as well as replacing and upgrading existing facilities at football and netball clubs across rural, regional and outer metropolitan Victoria, so they can meet growing demand and welcome even more members.

Grants of up to $250,000 are available to redevelop and build new ovals and netball courts, install LED sports lighting, and build new or redevelop existing pavilions.

Applications close on March 27, 2022.
