A man caught driving at more than 60 kilometres over the speed limit in Truganina has had his car impounded.
Police detected a Holden Barina travelling at 146/kmh in an 80/kmh zone of Hopkins Road about 1am Tuesday.
They attempted to intercept the vehicle but lost sight of it when it turned into an estate off Dohertys Road.
The car was located in Terminus Street a short time later.
Police said a 28-year-old man refused to accompany them to a station for a breath test.
The man was later arrested on outstanding warrants for failing to appear in court. He is expected to be charged on summons for numerous traffic offences including refusing a breath test, excessive speed and dangerous driving.
