Young Tarneit singer and musician Sienna Katelyn is making her mark on the world of music.

Her first original song, CRY, has been viewed more than 11,000 times since it was posted on Facebook on September 15.

Sienna Katelyn said she started writing the song last year. Her father, musician Mario Desmier, helped with the lyrics.

Mario also stars in the CRY video clip, along with Sienna Katelyn’s younger sister, seven-year-old Zoe.

Sienna Katelyn’s uncle, Bobby Baskaran, assisted in the song’s production, and he asked mastering engineer Reuben Cohen – who is known for winning a Latin Grammy and working on songs by Pharrell Williams and Bruno Mars – to master the tune.

Sienna Katelyn said her friends at Bethany Catholic Primary School in Werribee and from the David Jaanz School of Singing, where is she is a student, have been “very supportive” of CRY.

She said the song’s lyrics reflect that bullying is not acceptable

“I just wanted to send out the message to all the people who are being controlled, to stand up for themselves,” she said.

Sienna Katelyn said she would describe her musical style as a mix of pop and R&B, with a touch of soul.

“I really love to sing and perform,” she said.

“It makes me really happy and calm.”

Sienna Katelyn said that she hopes to become a professional singer when she grows up.

“I want to perform with Ariana Grande, she is my biggest idol,” she said.
