Wyndham council will celebrate queer culture with fabulous performances on Saturday, February 12 at Park Lounge in Werribee as part of the Midsumma festival.
Kicking off at 5.30pm in Kelly Park, hosts Tristan Meecham and Bec Reid of All the Queens Men will introduce music, theatre comedy and dance.
Multi-award-winning cabaret company YUMMY will light up the stage with extracts from their feature-length shows incorporating drag, dance, circus and burlesque.
There will be comedy from internationally renowned Zoë Coombs Marr who has frequently appeared in comedy circles as “Dave”, although these days she mostly appears as herself.
In the music category, queer noise-pop duo Cry Club will perform their danceable anthems and duo This Way North will also perform.
Plus, there will be a surprise guest performance from a former Eurovision artist.
Wyndham’s creative city portfolio holder, councillor Marcel Mahfoud, said that Park Lounge is a popular feature on the municipality’s calendar of events.
“Park Lounge is a free event open to everyone,” Cr Mahfoud said.
“Wyndham city is proud to be presenting this fabulous night that celebrates queer culture.”
The Park Lounge event will be family and dog-friendly. The performances will take place between 5.30-10pm. Tickets are not required.
Attendees will be asked to check in on arrival and attendees aged over 18 must show their COVID-19 proof of vaccination or a valid medical exemption.
A licensed bar will operate during Park Lounge.
Alcohol will be available for sale to attendees aged 18 and over and must be consumed within the licensed area.
BYO alcohol will not be permitted.
