Developer Frasers Property Australia has joined forces with not-for-profit social enterprise organisation Waverley Industries to say “thanks” to up to 50 residents of The Grove in Tarneit this Christmas.
To “Share the Christmas Cheer”, residents can nominate a neighbour who has shown compassion and community spirit through the COVID-19 pandemic to receive one of up to 50 Christmas hampers.
Frasers Property Australia community development manager Clare Swanson said the company was looking forward to presenting the hampers to deserving locals.
“Frasers Property understands the human side of property to create stronger, smarter, happier neighbourhoods,” Ms Swanson said.
“The Share the Christmas Cheer campaign encourages residents to nominate their neighbours for acts of kindness and gives them a chance to say ‘Merry Christmas’, ‘Thank you’ or just ‘Welcome to the neighbourhood’ with lovely, quality gifts from local Victorian businesses.
“We’ve seen and heard about many lovely acts of kindness over the months of lockdown.”
Products to feature in the hampers have been purchased from Waverley Industries, a not-for-profit organisation that provides supported employment opportunities to people with special needs.
Ms Swanson said that Grove residents could nominate their neighbours by filling out a form to share a short story about what the person has done to help the community this year.
Nominations will close on Monday, December 20.
