Service station armed robberies

Police are investigating a series of armed robberies at four service stations overnight, including three in Wyndham.

It is understood three to four offenders, wearing ski masks and armed with weapons, attended a service station on Dohertys Road, Truganina just before midnight..

Police said the group attempted to force entry to the store but were unsuccessful and fled empty handed.

The offenders attended another service station on Sayers Road, Williams Landing about 12.20am on July 2, according to police.

It is understood the group forced entry and stole cigarettes before fleeing.

A few minutes later, they attended a third service station on Leakes Road, Laverton North.

The group, again armed with weapons including knives and a baseball bat, stole a pack of energy drinks and left the store, police said.

Police were called to another armed robbery at a service station on Warrigal Road, Bentleigh East about 1.30am.

It’s believed four offenders, armed with a baseball bat, forced entry through a door and stole cigarettes.

The offenders remain outstanding and may be travelling in a stolen grey Mercedes Benz, police said.

No one was physically injured during the incidents.
