Works created by seven talented Wyndham artists from the RedWest Creatives Co-Op will be displayed at a Hoppers Crossing gallery this month.
The Primo RED exhibition is the co-op’s first group exhibition, and includes paintings, photography, ceramic sculpture, mixed media and video stills.
RedWest, which formed last year, is a group for artists and performers from the western suburbs, who aim to share knowledge, auspice grants and grow the arts scene in the west.
The group’s exhibition is being held at the C & H Gallery, a privately-run commercial gallery space located within The Picture Framing Shak in Hoppers Crossing.
Artists whose work feature in Primo RED include Michelle Ripari, Carolyn Warren-Langford, Leesa Gray-Pitt, Will Francis, Paul Zahra, Donna Racovalis and Ayesha Dharmabandu.
Grey-Pitt and Warren-Langford are both RedWest board members, and Ripari is a past board member.
“There is definitely an artistic culture alive in Wyndham, so many people are in their garages working on artwork,” Warren-Langford said.
RedWest meets on the last Wednesday of every month at the Wyndham Arts Incubator, at the Old Shire Offices in Werribee.
The opening night for the Primo RED exhibition will be Friday, November 8 from 6-8pm. The exhibition will run until December 7. Artworks in the exhibition will be available for sale. C & H Gallery (inside The Picture Framing Shak) is located at 3/387-393 Old Geelong Road, Hoppers Crossing.
