Police have released a computer-generated image of a male they are hoping to identify, in relation to an assault in Tarneit last year

Investigators have been told a 36-year-old man was meeting a friend outside a Turva Avenue property, when he was approached by six unknown males about midnight on December 13.

The group assaulted the man with glass bottles and pushed him to the ground, before he was kicked and punched to the upper body.

The man’s mobile phone, bank cards and Nike shoes were stolen before the offenders fled.

The victim alerted emergency services who transported him to hospital for treatment.

Investigators have today released a computer-generated image of a suspect who they say forced the victim to provide his phone password.

The man is described as African in appearance, aged 20-30 years, about 180cm tall, with dark hair.

Anyone who recognises the man or with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or file a confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
