Scooter evade arrests

Two youths who went on a joyride through Wyndham on a motor scooter yesterday afternoon, have been arrested.

After an extended pursuit lasting more than an hour, police arrested the two boys at an aged care facility in Point Cook at about 4pm on Monday June 10.

The incident began when officers observed three people on motor scooters on Millars Road in Altona North at about 2.45pm.

Police tried to intercept the motor scooters, however the riders evaded police.

With the assistance from the air wing, police then followed the youths through Truganina, Hoppers Crossing, Point Cook and Altona Meadows.

Police arrested two of the offenders, a 16-year-old and 17-year-old from Hoppers Crossing, when they entered a residential area off Point Cook Road.

Both have since been released pending summons.

Two offenders are still outstanding.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
