A 14-year-old Werribee boy will face charges following a fire at Manor Lakes P-12 College at the weekend.
Emergency services were called to the school about 1.05pm on Sunday. It is believed a fire which started in a locker spread into the roof cavity of nearby classrooms.
CFA fire crews brought the fire under control by 1.40pm.
The college updated the community promptly via its Facebook page.
“A fire at the Wyara locker bay … has caused some building damage,” a post stated.
“Secondary art and ICT programs may have some disruption, but there will be minimal disruption to other programs.”
The fire forced the school to relocate parent teacher interviews that were to be held in the Wyara locker bay on Monday.
A police spokesman told
Star Weekly a 14-year-old boy was arrested on Sunday and was assisting police with their inquiries.
He faces charges relating to the blaze.
The investigation is ongoing.
