Rugby fans get extra trains for Lions match

Rugby fans going to the British and Irish Lions first game in Melbourne for their 2025 tour, will have extra V-Line services to help them get to and from Marvel Stadium.

The Lions take on the First Nations and Pasifika XV at 7.45pm on Tuesday, July 22 and extra V-Line services to Melbourne’s north and west, Geelong and Ballarat will be offered both before and after the fixture.

On the Geelong line, an additional train will depart Wyndham Vale at 5.19pm and stop at Tarneit before arriving at Southern Cross at 6.07pm.

After the game, an additional Geelong train will depart Southern Cross at 10.20pm and stop at Deer Park, Tarneit, Wyndham Vale, Little River, Lara, Corio, North Shore, North Geelong and Geelong, before arriving at South Geelong at 11.26pm.

On the Ballarat line, an additional train before the game will depart from Bacchus Marsh at 5.17pm, stopping at Melton and Caroline Springs, and arriving at Southern Cross at 6.08pm.

After the game coaches will replace trains from Southern Cross to Wendouree from 7pm until last service.

On the Seymour line, a special coach will depart from Southern Cross at 10.15pm, stopping as required from Donnybrook to Seymour.
