Resort club planned

An $8 million resort club will be constructed in Tarneit’s Alamora estate.

Construction of the resort club, which has been designed by architects ClarkeHopkinsClarke, is due to begin early next year.

The resort, which will be exclusively for the use of Alamora residents, will feature a heated outdoor swimming pool, gymnasium, boutique café, multi-sport courts, family and function spaces, community gardens and barbecue facilities.

Alamora, a 2000-lot master-planned community, is being developed on Sayers Road by Villawood Properties.

Villawood chief executive Alan Miller said resort clubs like the one being planned for Alamora were often a key attraction for people looking to buy a house.

“These clubs, with their gyms and pools, cafes and courts and function spaces, have proven time and again to be something people really like,” Mr Miller said.

“It’s also an important part of our focused national growth strategy and it’s a project which will allow us to raise the bar, yet again, in the standard of Australia’s community residential living.”

Villawood has built thousands of residential properties across seven projects in Wyndham during the past 20 years, including in Alamanda at Point Cook.

More than 10,000 people now live in the houses constructed by Villawood throughout Wyndham.

Mr Miller said that all these past projects have helped to shape the resort club at Alamora.

“The knowledge and experience we’ve gained from all of our residents’ clubs in Melbourne and Geelong will go into making this club the biggest and best ever,” he said.

Alamora was launched in February, during a COVID lockdown.

A total of 35 lots were snapped up through online sales, after more than 200 pre-sale inquiries within a fortnight.

Several potential buyers also camped outside the Alamora sales centre in the days before the lockdown was announced.
