Wyndham mayor Peter Maynard is encouraging residents to report illegal signage displayed in the lead up to the state election.
“It’s important that residents know that Wyndham City prohibits the display or placement of any electoral signage in or on any public place, being land, including roads and reserves which council owns, occupies, manages or controls,” Councillor Maynard wrote on social media.
“Council may request the immediate removal of the signage by the owner or candidate, or may remove the signage without notification to the owner or candidate.
“Our planning investigation officers will be proactively reporting and removing any signs that are not compliant.”
