The $11 million redevelopment of Mossfiel Reserve in Hoppers Crossing is complete.

The upgraded reserve includes new sports fields for cricket and rugby, six netball courts, two community pavilions, a half-court basketball court and a playground.

Wyndham sports development portfolio holder Peter Maynard said the project was one of the council’s largest infrastructure projects for the year.

“This major Wyndham project delivers a long-term vision for the reserve and comes after two years of construction,” Cr Maynard said.

“I’m proud council has delivered this exciting redevelopment for the Hoppers Crossing community.”

The project was supported by the Victorian government through a $1.8 million grant.

Cr Maynard said the reserve was a terrific place for residents from all walks of life to exercise and gather with family and friends.

“There’s a children’s playground, barbecue facilities and walking paths for people of all age groups to enjoy a stroll,” he said.

“In addition, the two pavilions can be used by any group in the community .”

Local sports clubs and Wyndham council will host a community event with fun activities at the reserve on October 24 from 4-6pm.
