The Wyndham Repair Café has helped divert more than 450 kilograms of waste from landfill since it was established in 2018.
The café has also helped more than 100 people to upcycle, repair and re-use items which they would otherwise have thrown away.
Repair cafés are free community programs that repair goods, share skills and knowledge, reduce waste and household spending.
Volunteers fix and repair everyday items such as electronic devices, textiles and household items, which are brought in by visitors or donated.
The Wyndham Repair Cafe was started by group co-ordinator Joe Ferlazzo.
The repair cafe had to move from its previous Werribee venue when COVID-19 saw the site, which was run by a not-for-profit employment service, shut down.
The repair café recently recommenced at the Wyndham Park Community Shed, at 55-57 Kookaburra Avenue in Werribee.
The repair café, which is being supported by Wyndham council, meets on the second Saturday of the month.
The team of dedicated volunteers is always expanding and new volunteers are welcome to get involved.
“Coming along to the repair café is a great way to learn new skills, and certainly an insight into how some goods are poorly designed,” Mr Ferlazzo said.
Residents are also welcome to drop off suitable items for repair or mending,
