Raffle to aid crisis line

Local businesses have come together to raise funds for the 24-hour Mental Health Crisis Line at Werribee Mercy Hospital.

The Werribee Hospital Foundation has launched an appeal to raise $30,000 to upgrade the ageing crisis line, which receives more than 25,000 calls every year, which is expected to increase due to COVID-19.

Tonia Tribe from the Tonia T Boutique in Werribee said that after hearing about the appeal, she wanted to help out.

As a member of the Werribee Business & Tourism Association (WBTA), Ms Tribe and others have launched a raffle, in the hopes of raising $6000 for the appeal.

First prize in the raffle is a pamper/care package worth $1000, which Tonia T Boutique, Quest Werribee, Divine Scents Creations, Fifth Element Day Spa, The Park Werribee, Dymocks Werribee, Notorious Espresso, The Garden Feast, Tonia T Boutique, Shadowfax Winery, Sesto’s Shoes and Salon Vogue have all donated prizes to.

The WBTA, YPA and Tonia T Boutique are sponsoring the raffle.

Werribee Hospital Foundation’s community fundraising manager Lisa Field, who is also a member of the WBTA, said: “The charity raffle includes vouchers from some of our best iconic businesses and services and highlights the many great things you can do and experience in our city.

“It also reinforces the message to give local and buy local.”
