Thomas Chirnside Primary School pupils have been on a tasty world “tour”.
During the Werribee school’s annual Food Fair last month, pupils, families and staff members all helped prepare some delicious fare.
Families and businesses donated ingredients, which were added to those grown in the school’s Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden.
Among the dishes were mee goreng, falafel, soba noodles, gnocchi, curries and rice paper rolls. Attendees also enjoyed student artwork in the Food for Thought exhibition.
Principal Bev Thompson said celebrating the school community’s cultures was a treat.
“Everyone worked hard and had a lot of fun,” she said. “We were very pleased that this annual event is growing and involving so many people who are interested in the school and what we are able to do.”
